Mission Accomplished?

I wonder why this information isn't on the cover of every newspaper and featured on every talking-head show in America?

...wording from the new Iraqi Constitution.

"Islam is the official religion of state, and is the fundamental source of legislation. It is impermissible to pass legislation that contradicts its essential verities or its laws."

Just why did we sacrifice 1700 Americians and kill ten's of thousands of Iraqis?
Thank you Bush administration. So when do Iraqi and Iran merge into a superpower in the Middle East?
It looks like this administration is all for religion-based constitutions

Karl Rove: The Great Unifier

Yes that's right. Karl The Unifier . Stay with me here. Maybe the almost inevitable charges to come against Karl and Kompany is just what the country needs to find some kind of common ground... something thay can agree on. Red, Blue, Purple or Hot Pink... this is an issue that just might be able to unity the country into some kind of basic agreement. I'm really hoping that the voices still spewing the ridiculous GOP talking points will start to crawl back into their lairs to rethink just what kind of person and what kind of America they are attempting to protect and support.

These are basics that I hope we all can come together on:

  • The security of our country is important.

  • Protecting our CIA operatives is part of keeping out country safe.

  • Those who attempt to break down this system should be help accountable.
  • The way the President is still protecting this person (or more likely these people) really makes me wonder just how much of a figurehead he really is. If he really was created by Karl then he will inevitably be destroyed by Karl. That destruction will not be a pretty sight, but like watching a horrible accident, I find it hard to turn away.

    Bad Animals

    Note Karl's button: "I'm a Source, Not a Target".
The lighthearted arrogance will be his undoing.

As the great philosopher Brion Gysin once said: "Man is a bad animal".
    These are bad animals.

    Lest we forget...

Old habits are hard to break.
(aka) Those who fail to learn from the past (and aren't prosecuted) are doomed to repeat it.

    From Salon

When Karl Rove was little known outside Texas political circles, he was fired from George H.W. Bush's 1992 reelection campaign for leaking information to syndicated columnist Robert Novak. According to newspaper reports at the time, Rove was terminated for passing information to Novak from a meeting of the president's chief advisors. Rove denied he was the leaker.

Today, with another Bush in office, a journalist is being jailed to protect a source that led Novak to name a CIA operative, Valerie Plame. There is fevered speculation that Novak's source was, once again, Karl Rove.

Beyond Salon I have yet to hear any other media outlets pick up on this story.

I really think questions to George Jr. asking why his father had the guts to take care of business that he doesn't would steam him up pretty good. He's always had a thing about trying to top daddy. The analysts would have a field day with Bush on the couch.

Update: Looks like LA Times picked up the story on the 13th.

During George H.W. Bush's second presidential campaign, Rove was fired from the campaign team because of suspicions that he had leaked information to columnist Robert Novak — the same columnist who first reported Plame's CIA role in 2003, citing anonymous administration sources.

At the time, Bush's campaign was in trouble, and there was concern that the president might not even win his home state of Texas. The Novak column described a Dallas meeting in which the campaign's state manager, Robert Mosbacher, was stripped of his authority because the Texas effort was viewed as a bust.

Mosbacher complained, expressing his suspicion that Rove was the leaker. Rove denied the charge, but was fired nevertheless.

I'd love to hear Good Morning America or Today Show have an interview Mosbacher and get his two cents in telling this tale from the past.

    Max and Mann

Max Blumenthal takes on the herculean task of reading through the Mann Report so we all don't have to. The Mann Report was commissioned by Kenneth Tomlinson, the chairman of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, in an attempt to document liberal bias in public broadcasting. This little exercise cost taxpayers a cool $14,700. What emerges is worthless drivel in the form of a report.

The Mann report may be one of the strangest documents ever produced by the federal government; however, it is not totally without value. Though it may be botched as an indictment of liberal media bias, it inadvertently offers an unfiltered glimpse into the recesses of the conservative mind.

The conservative media game was neatly summarized by Matt Labash, a former senior writer for The Weekly Standard ... "The conservative media likes to rap the liberal media on the knuckles for not being objective. We've created this cottage industry in which it pays to be un-objective.... It's a great way to have your cake and eat it too. Criticize other people for not being objective. Be as subjective as you want. It's a great little racket."

The mainstream media in this country are dominated by liberals.
They have so poisoned the electorate that no Republicans can get elected.

    Republicans don't control the presidency.
Republicans don't control both houses of Congress.
    Republicans don't control 28 of 50 governorships.

Poor poor dominated Republicans. How will they ever get their point of view out?

    March Of The Frog Traitor

While we are talking about evil incarnate.
Please oh please make this be true.

MSNBC Analyst Says Cooper Documents Reveal Karl Rove as Source in Plame Case

"At the end of the day, it's of keen interest to me to see whether or not we can get Karl Rove frog-marched out of the White House in handcuffs. And trust me, when I use that name, I measure my words."
    ----Joseph Wilson, August 21, 2003

Let the march of the cowardice traitor begin.
Skip to the music Mr. Rove.
